Arctic Trucks has thus partnered with Isuzu to create a special D-Max model in the United Kingdom, the truck coming with a hefty dosage of upgrades.

As we can depict from the photos, the Isuzu D-Max is now tweaking the massive 35-inch tires standing on the 17×10-inch alloy wheels. The tires are custom-made for extreme off-road capabilities.

Besides the massive wheels and custom tires, the pickup truck also comes with wide fender flares LED rear lights, chrome trim, load bed liner, as well as the tuner`s tow hook covers. The model features the Fox Performance Series suspension as well, which makes it around 5 inches higher to the ground.

The Isuzu D-Max can be ordered in two body styles, like the Double Cab and Extended Cab, both packing a 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine under the hood, developing 163 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Inside, the Isuzu D-Max sports leather upholstery, climate control, six-speaker audio system, infotainment system and much more. Prices for the all-new and custom Isuze D-Max start from £30,999 and can go much higher, depending on the optional features available.

Power is offered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel unit producing 174 horsepower and 380Nm of torque. You can pair this powertrain with a standard five-speed manual transmission or a similar automatic unit with sequential shift.

Inside, buyers will get high quality materials, new trim, iPod connectivity, 10-inch displays part of the infotainment system and Sky Sound system for higher-spec versions.

“All 4×4 MU-X models are also equipped with Isuzu’s super-easy to use “Terrain command” 4WD select dial,” says the company.

According to Isuzu, the new model is available in either 4×2 or 4×4 configurations, several safety systems such as hill ascent and hill descent control being offered as well.

For next year’s event, Isuzu, a company we don’t often hear from these days, will be taking place with a specially prepared D-Max pickup.

The pickup shape is well appreciated at this event due to the ability it has of carrying extra equipment around and because of the way it doesn’t waste any of its space.

4×4 is a must in these conditions and the innate reliability factor of a strong chassis and motor can only help efforts.

No matter how capable the Isuzu D-Max may be as a regular commercial vehicle, it gets a lot of beefing up before sent off to the desert.

Its 3.0 liter turbodiesel engine pushes out 242 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque which is about the same as a luxury car these days but much more durable.

The engine is hooked to a Hollinger sequential 5 speed transmission through an Xtreme rally clutch. Before being relayed to the ground/sand the power is sent to 16 inch Trojan alloys with Toyo Open Country tires.

The ensemble can go up to 62 mph in just 7 seconds regardless of the surface travelling on and it can manage a top speed of 118 mph.

Conditions are not the best for straight line performance anyway and the 5.070 lbs weight isn’t exactly helpful either.

The new rally model is based on the D-Max 4×4 double-cab and benefits from a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. The power plant is able to deliver 242 horsepower at 4,800rpm and 589Nm of torque at 2,000rpm.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 7 seconds also thanks to a five-speed sequential Hollinger gearbox.

“The Dakar-ready pick-up has been enhanced to increase performance and to withstand the rigours of over 5,000 miles of arduous terrain, between Lima, Peru and the finish in Santiago, Chile,” says Isuzu.

The Japanese pick-up model is fitted with 16 x 7-inch ROH Trojan wheels and beefier Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires. The total mass of 2,300 kilograms along with the good engine under the bonnet help the model to achieve a top speed of 190 km/h.
