Compared to the standard Captur, the S-Edition features new features at the exterior and inside the cabin, along with more power under the hood.

Visually, the Renault Captur S-Edition is available with a two-tone exterior colour which is Iron Blue, in a combination with Diamond Black roof. The limited edition also comes with front and rear protection plate areas, Gun mEtal Grey door inserts, S-Edition badges as well as stand-out 17-inch Filante alloy wheels.

The interior has also been tweaked with Alcantara leather upholstery with blue stitching, adding as well high-end Bose stereo system or R-LINK media interface. For extra money, customers can also opt for the Easy Park Assist technology.

We are looking here at two hot models that will not receive the green light for production, but will borrow the mechanics to equip future Renault models in Brazil. The concepts refer to the new Sandero RS Grand Prix and the Duster Extreme.

As we can depict from the photos below, we are dealing with special editions of the standard Sandero and Duster.
The first one comes with an extremely aggressive look, highlighted by the black and gold trim and a black exterior colour.

In the engine department, the Renault Sandero RS Grand Prix is equipped with the same 2.0-liter gasoline engine, developing 148 horsepower.

On the other hand, the Dacia Extreme comes with roof-mounted LED lights, custom front and rear bumpers, new special wheels and some fresh interior tweaks as well. Under the hood, the Dacia Duster Extreme comes with a 2.0-liter gasoline, sending the power to all wheels.

As aforementioned, the Dacia Duster Extreme will not make it to the production line but its equipment will be used on the future Duster model, and that in case you want your own to be equipped with an interesting array of off-road features.

Renault is Volkswagen`s answer of a cheap EV alternative in China, the model coming with low-costs and zero CO2 emissions, which will prove extremely efficient in one of the most crowded and high-polluting countries in the world.

There are a lot of magazines to confirm the arrival of a cheap EV Renault model on the Asian market, with Forbes being the first one to cite the news.

Also, Carlos Ghosn, CEO at Renault Electric Department, also declared around 7 months ago that the all-new EV model will come with a low price, which is what people need today. And even with the low price, the company will find a solution to make it extremely viable and demanding.

The same Ghosn is back a couple days ago with good news concerning the introduction of the company`s all-new electric models in China, stating:

“High price EVs with very good performance are not selling very well in China. What is selling in China are lower spec models, more affordable ones. Renault and Nissan will continue to develop high spec models, but we are also working very hard on introducing low spec affordable electric cars, and for this we are working with our friends from Dongfeng.”

On the other hand, there are also other French publications that state that the EV would eventually become a plug-in hybrid version first, based on the Clio and powered by a battery pack courstesy of LG Chem. Stay tuned for more details!

Renault is also trying to get a piece of the action with the recently unveiled Zoe ZE 40, which is in the carmaker`s opinion “100% electric” and coming with noticeable performance in terms of mile range.

The Renault Zoe ZE 40 promises to be a serious competitor against electric models from Tesla, Opel or BMW, claiming an impressive mile range.

We might be looking here at a 300 range when equipped with a wider battery pack, compared to the Opel Ampera-e`s 500 km on the NEDC or 300 km for the new BMW i3 on the NEDC. On the other hand, the Tesla Model 3 is also claiming around 346 km in real-world traffic conditions.

The impressive mile range is possible thanks to the new battery pack built by LG Chem, which can be recharged in just half an hour, providing the model with a 80km driving range. More than that, the Quick Charge functions allow the electric vehicle to fast-charge its battery. Also, the car comes with power between 56 kW and 66 kW.

On the other hand, Renault`s partner Nissan, is also planning to electrify its future LEAF model, which is expected to hit the market with an all-electric drivetrain in about 18 months.
