Interestingly, the Hennessey Venom F5 will use a six-speed manual transmission as it is lighter and more durable than an automatic gearbox. A single-clutch paddle-shift gearbox will be offered as well by Hennessey.

The high-performance model will also feature a special traction control system which uses GPS in order to adapt for certain circuits in order to improve performance.

With a starting price of over 1,2 million, the new Hennessey Venom F5 will be introduced next year with a limited run of around 30 cars to be offered.

As you probably know, the American model is based on the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor and benefits from a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 600 horsepower, enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5,9 seconds.

The massive model makes use of a supercharger, namely the VelociRaptor 600 which adds almost 200 horses to the stock engine. At the exterior, Hennessey offers new alloy wheels with massive tires, LED lights, revised bumpers and new brakes from Brembo.

The new Hennessey VelociRaptor comes with a quite steep price tag of $149,500, only 30 units following to be built every year.

This year, Hennessey will unveil the new Venom GT2, a model which is motivated by a 7.0-liter V8 engine producing 1,500 horses and linked to a seven-speed transmission. Considering that the new model gets almost 300 horses in addition, there is no doubt that it will be able to obtain even a faster time.

Until then, the current Venom GT is the fastest production car to sprint from 0 to 300 km/h.

With such resources and a total mass of 1,220 kilograms, the 2012MY Venom GT does the 0-100 km/h in 2,2 seconds and hits a top speed of 440 km/h.

Considering that the new model is even more powerful, expect the American supercar to complete the 0-100 km/h acceleration in about 2 seconds.

But what happens if you’re not the typical muscle car fan? What if you’re the sort of muscle car fan that thinks a hot rod is underpowered?

If you’re that chap, you’ll be turning to the gearheads over at Hennessey Performance so you turn your 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS into a HPE600.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS HPE600 offers up a TVS2300 Supercharger System that’s bolted to the 2010-2011 LS3 or L99 V8 engine.

That supercharger setup will give you 602 horsepower and 595 lb-ft of torque. This means that if you give the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS HPE600 a boot full you can get from 0 to 60 in around 3.5 seconds or do the quarter mile in about 11 seconds.

Naturally this sort of performance update is mostly related to the supercharger but that’s not all. The Hennessey tuned 2011 Chevrolet Camaro also has a cold air induction system an upgraded set of injectors, high flow catalytic converters and an ECU remap.

If however you want people to know the HPE600 is coming you can spec up a few extras like a CarbonAero Body Kit and a stainless steel cat back exhaust system.

Most of these people work for Hennessey Performance Engineering and what their most recent car has to offer is nothing other than uncompromised performance. On this basis they started with the Lotus Exige and added what Hennessey products have always had: a lot more power.

To start with the new car has the same engine found in the ZR1 Corvette, a 6.2 liter LS9 V8 tweaked in house to produce 725 hp and 741lb-feet of torque. Sounds like a lot for the Exige, but Hennessey think it’s not so there are a couple of twin-turbo V8 options with power outputs of 1000 and 1200 hp. The Venom GT is expected to hit 60 in less than 2.5 seconds and the top speed is predicted to be 262 mph. If confirmed it would be the fastest production car in the world.

These amazing figures aren’t the result of just the tremendous power of the engine, it’s sent out by a Ricardo six speed gearbox and the tires that put it down are some immense Michelin PS2s. Making sure all of these components work together is, as always in recent years, a computer that provides a programmable traction control system.

Straight line performance is amazing but Hennessey has also worked on track aspects of the Venom GT as it only weighs 2400 lbs (that’s just over a tone), has a braking system that has Brembo written on it and features 6 piston calipers for the front, 4 pistons for the rear, teamed with 15 inch rotors made of carbon ceramics and it’s body has been reengineered aerodynamically using CFD after the body had been stretched. To aid stability at high speed the rear wing and the suspension are actively adjustable depending on speed and driving conditions.

The price of this yet to be proven Veyron killer is 600.000 dollars for the “basic” version and production is limited to ten per year. As it turns out, there are already four people waiting to grab hold of their Hennessy Venom GT.
