The Ram Texas Ranger Concept will come with an interesting Bright White and Bright Silver Metallic paintjob, complemented by the 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. Additionally, the body style will also bear the Texas Ranger badging.

Inside, the Ram Texas Ranger will be also announced with a slight makeover, including the silver Mexican pesos into the doors, the Canyon Brown leather on the seats, the grab handles also wrapped in leather, the center console vault, the walnut trim, and a few more.

We have no idea what the point was of all this, as the truck was neither featured in the movie nor sold while the hype was still alive. But that has now changed, as the Ram 2500 Power Wagon is now up for auction. With only 6 days left on the auction itself, the truck only managed to gather $47.500.

Consider this in the light of the fact that the estimated cost of the Superman Ram truck is around $112.000. The truck has plenty of trims to account for that sum, like gloss black roof, anodized red grille inserts and 17 inch aluminium wheels with off-road tires so it would be a shame to undersell.

Ram pickup trucks are quite aggressive on their own, but now they announced the Heavy Duty Black, and they claim it is the “baddest looking” truck out there.

That is quite a bold claim from Ram, as there are quite a lot of pickups out there that look absolutely beastly, but I admit that the Heavy Duty Black has a certain aura about it. As you might have guessed, the Heavy Duty Black is a mostly cosmetic build, and the predominant color is black (go figure).

Indeed, black is everywhere, from the custom wheel rims, to the front grille and even the tinted headlights and rear lights. The build also receives parksense and parkview, which mean parking sensors and a rear view camera. The Ram Heavy Duty Black will bear a $42.140 price tag and will be available in Ram 2500 and 3500 versions.

This is a homage for the 10th anniversary of their original Rumble Bee truck, and in the same manner, it is based on their Super Bee car.

Under the hood, Ram fitted their 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine that is good for 395 Hp. The power is sent via a TorqueFlite 8 speed automatic gear box to the rear wheels. For that extra oomph, Ram even installed a Mopar cat-back dual exhaust system and also used a King Suspension system to lower the ride by 2 inches.

For the exterior, they went with a yellow and black contrasting theme, similar to a bumble bee, with custom 24 inch wheels. Inside, the 1500 Rumble Bee sports the same color combination, with a most weird addition: the shifter knob presents a real bee encased in amber.

Inspired by and dedicated to the superhuman hero and the next movie to be released, Ram built a one-off Ram 1500 Power Wagon.

The debut of this “Man of Steel” Ram truck will be on June 10, at the world premiere of the movie, and after that, those interested on it, can have a nice bidding war to take it home. The truck sports a Dark Ceramic Gray paint, with a red grille and a Superman symbol on the front, all hinting at Clark Kent’s alter ego.

More of the same can be found on the inside, with other logos and even meshes that reminisce of Superman’s suit. The seats are draped in Pewter leather and red accents can be found anywhere.

The Ram 1500 “Man of Steel” Special Edition did everything right and managed to represent the theme quite well. The price of this unique truck will depend very much on the success of the movie and how big and rich its fans are. Just make sure you don’t hit any kryptonite in it.

According to the press release, the new 1500 EcoDiesel gets a small displacement engine built by VM Motori.

However, we do know that it is very possible to be a 3.0-liter diesel unit capable to offer best-in-class fuel consumption. The new diesel powerplant will be linked to a TorqueFlite automatic transmission with eight gears.

Performance figures for the new American pickup truck will be released in the coming months.

“Truck owners have been emphatically asking for it, and Ram will be the only manufacturer to offer a diesel powertrain in the half-ton segment,” proudly says the company.

However, these are just preliminary details, so we have to wait for the model’s official debut before we can tell you exactly if the new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is really that great.

Having always been a volume market, this isn’t completely surprising so the decision to react did not come slowly. Production will quickly be ramped up to meet the demand.

The Warren Truck plant located in Detroit will receive a third shift so that the 2013 Ram pickup (the most popular of models) can be rolled out as quickly as possible.

Ordering people to do this in a city like Detroit is not that big a challenge. Working out the logistics for everything else involved in the project is a different story.

Chrysler will be investing another $238 million in the Detroit area for this expansion. The change will also create another 1.250 jobs to the environment.

That makes for great news all around Detroit. Due to the complicated process of making a car these days however, that’s not where the story ends.

Along with demand for the 2013 Ram pickup, demand for the modern Pentastar V6 engine rose. Since this is an engine used on most of Chrysler’s products, boosting production for it shouldn’t upset anybody.

The Mack Engine plant, the one responsible for such powerplants will also receive an increased workload to keep up with the Ram pickup.

While we’re on the subject of investments, Chrysler will also be pushing $40 million into its Trenton Engine plant in order to make their 3.2 liter V6 as well as the upcoming four cylinder Tigershark powerplant.
