This is not the first time we hear of an automaker that decides to skip an auto show. While Nissan says they have nothing new to show, there is most likely a financial side to this absence as well. There simply is no point in spending money to show the same things you’ve already shown at other auto shows. Nissan will surely be missed at this particular auto show. The spirit of innovation that Nissan usually spreads when present at these types of shows is an important contribution to the overall success of the auto show.

At the same time, this absence could mean that Nissan is taking its time to prepare for the next show, where it will present new gadgets and design ideas. Taking more time to polish your products and ideas is in most cases a grand idea. People and potential customers usually keep track of this aspect. In their eyes, taking the necessary time to polish your products is the guarantee of quality. In most cases this really is the case. We’ll know for sure if Nissan also did this at their next presentation. Regardless of the reason, Nissan had a pretty solid reason to skip the 2018 Paris Auto Show.

No matter how you look at the situation, the absence of Nissan from this year’s Paris Auto Show is definitely going to be noticed. The main highlight is the company`s latest ‘gliding wing’ instrument panel with new seats with added bolstering, as well as NissanConnect SM with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, eight-speed multi-touch colour display and three-spoke steering wheel.

There is also the safety package, which boasts the latest features – Rear Automatic Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and High Beam Assist. The company`s new semi-autonomous ProPILOT Assist System brings forward advanced driving conditions.

Available in no less than five trim levels – Altima S, SV, SL, SR and Altima Platinum – the all-new 2019 Altima is equipped with three engines. There is a standard 3.5-liter engine with all-wheel drive available on all variants, adding as well a 2.0-liter and a 2.5-liter on the higher trim levels SR and Platinum.

The 2.0-liter engine replaces the previous 3.5-liter V6, and features a variable compression turbo configuration, introduced for the first time by Infiniti.

The 2018 Nissan Leaf has received a power boost, bringing it to a total of 147 horsepower. Also, thanks to the new 40 kWh battery pack, the all-electric vehicle can now drive longer distance, meaning that it also comes with an increased range mile.

In the video review below, Mat Watson reveals that on a single charge, the new 2018 Nissan Leaf is capable of travelling no less than 378 km (235 miles) on the NEDC cycle. However, in real life situations, the new electric Leaf won`t be able to travel than around 240 km (150 miles), before having to recharge its battery.

The gorgeous-looking Leaf is also a fast electric car. Perhaps the fastest electric vehicle as Nissan claims. This means that the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is done in 8.2 seconds. Another novelty is that the new model also uses the e-Pedal, which allows the driver to drive the Leaf almost “without touching the brake pedal.”

Other interesting characteristics refer to the latest technology the car boasts. We are dealing here at the company`s newest semi-autonomous ProPilot system, which, again in Nissan`s opinion, is a better option than other self-driving systems implemented on other electric cars.

Other tweaks also include ProPILOT single-lane autonomous driving technology, ProPILOT Park which helps the driver park the car by taking over the acceleration, steering, brakes and so on.

Full details with the Nissan Leaf Nismo concept will be unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show later this month. The Japanese carmaker will also announce the arrival of the production variant on the market; according to rumors, the Leaf Nismo production model is set to arrive at the end of next year.
