But according to rumors, a much sportier version of the Bugatti Chiron might also be in the works, especially since the Veyron model has also had a Grand Sport variant. We might be dealing here with a roadster version of the Chiron, called the Chiron Grand Sport.

The famous artist rendering Theophilus Chin came with his own interpretation of how a future Bugatti Chiron Gran Sport might look in the near future.

The project is called “world`s meanest, craziest, and faster hair dryer,” which hints at how fast a future Chiron Grand Sportcan can be.

And for that we would have to turn our heads to its predecessor, the Veyron Grand Sport, which came with 360 km/h without the roof and a massive 407 km/h with the roof up, so we might expected some increased figures for the Chiron Grand Sport.

As a small reminder, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport was first unveiled in 2006 in Pebble Beach California, with the first model to be auctioned for more than $3 million. The Chiron Grand Sport will replace the Veyron roadster in 2018.

It’s hard to describe in words the supreme performances of the Chiron, so I’ll let the numbers talk: 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds, top speed limited (!) to 420 km/h. On paper, if the limitation is removed, Chiron could reach 460 km/h, therefore becoming the fastest production car in the history! The engine is a W16, 8 litre, quad-turbo, developing a peak power of 1.500 hp. Sooo…how could Bugatti squeeze 500 more hp from the same engine size? First, the turbines are 30 percent larger than the old ones. Then, the titanium-made exhaust is less restrictive, while the inner parts of the engine have been completely redesigned.

In order to put all the 1.600 Nm (available from 2.000 rpm!) to the ground, Bugatti chose a 7-speed automatic transmission, able to resist the huge amount of torque. It moves all the four Michelin tyres, especially made for Chiron: 285/30 R20 in front and 355/25 R21 at the rear axle. Because I feel you yearning for more numbers, here they are: the cooling system for the turbochargers needs 60.000 liters of air every minute, while the engine cooling water pump moves 800 liters of water. To stop the beast, there have been fitted ceramic and carbon brakes, titan calipers and 28 pistons. Let’s talk about Chiron’s availability, because there are many of us who wonder if they can afford one. There is good news: the price is only 2.4 million euros, and two thirds of the 500 cars are still available to order.

Well, recent news point towards the fact that the whole incident was actually attempted insurance fraud, and the Veyron owner was found guilty.

Beck in 2009, the Veyron was still pretty much the top dog when it came to hypercars, so seeing one ruined was just sad. Now this news comes, adding insult to injury. While you can understand the allure of grabbing a truckload of money from an insurance company, purposely destroying a car for it just isn’t right.

While initially saying it was caused by a low flying seagull, the owner later changed his statement saying he dropped his phone. For his deed, Andy House (owner) faces 20 years in prison. If you ask me, that is a bit too excessive, especially since he eventually pleaded guilty.

The one of a kind supercar Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ‘1 of 1’ has been presented at the Pebble Beach wearing a special bright yellow paintjob at the front grille, moving to the decklid and finishing with the rear wing, along the wheels.

The special color scheme has been taken from classic Bugatti models, like the 41 Royale, the Type 44 or the Type 55.

The Bugatti automaker is proud to state that the supercar has been made entirely by hand, starting with the polishing and finishing with the engine assembling under the hood.

Inside, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ‘1 of 1’ is bragging with black leather, carbon fiber components, yellow stitching, as well as a sketch of the famous Bugatti Type 35, on the center box.

The replacement of the Bugatti Veyron is reported to be launched somewhere at the beginning of 2016, being powerful enough to reach an astonishing 460 km/h.

The successor of the Bugatti Veyron is thus rumored to sport a W16 engine under the hood, being equipped with direct injection and other performance features, which meet the Euro 6 emission standards, the supercar also being more fuel efficient.

The engine of the future Bugatti will be closely working with a disc shaped electric motor, which can be found on the gearbox housing, alongside a lithium-ion battery.

The supercar would thus output a total of massive 1,500 horsepower and impressive 1,490 Nm of torque, which is also electronically limited.

The new Bugatti Veyron would also come with rather the same design as the present one and will be manufactured in Molsheim, France.

Now there are more than a few Veyrons out there, be it the first ever version or one of the many special editions that seemed to just keep coming.

Still, the car maker is finally moving on, and even announced a new model to follow in Veyron’s footsteps, although we don’t really know much about it. So what will become of the now retired Bugatti Veyron, especially considering that each came with quite a hefty price tag.

To answer that, the manufacturer came up with the Certified program, which promises to not just service any Veyron, but to keep them in “excellent technical and aesthetic condition”. Not too long ago, Bugatti decided enough is enough (again) and the Veyron is no longer produced. Naturally, fans asked which Veyron they would build next?

With 43 units still available for purchase, Bugatti’s head, Wolfgang Schreiber came out and finally confirmed that the next model from the car maker will not be a Veyron. He also took this opportunity to put down some rumors that they are either preparing a SuperVeyron or even a production version of the 16 C Galibier concept.

So what exactly will the Veyron replacement entail? Asked about it, Schreiber was more than vague. He stated only that this new model is set to “redefine the benchmarks” set by the current Veyron. The is also a strong maybe on the idea of going for a hybrid power solution under the hood. So, as a conclusion, we know next to nothing about the new model, except that it is definitely on its way.

After it started life as an engineering marvel, both expensive and exclusive, the Veyron is going downhill as more and more “Special” versions appear.

The latest was announced for the Frankfurt Motor Show, starting in two days, and they call it the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Edition. The purpose of this new Veyron is to bring a tribute to “renowned names which have played a crucial role in its history.”

Question is, will this version be the last one (yet again), or are Bugatti just too stubborn to give up on the award winning model? Either way, until Frankfurt and its official release, we only have some tech specs, with more to be revealed. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Edition will be using the quad-turbo 8.0 liter W12 enngine to muster 1.200 Hp and 1.500 Nm of torque.

As you probably figured it out, this model is dedicated to Jean-Pierre Wimille, a famous driver which managed to win the Le Mans 24 Hours race behind the steering wheel of a Bugatti in 1937 and 1939.

At the exterior, the sports car features a special two-color finish, reminiscent of the 57G Tank, the model which crossed first the finish line in 1937.

Inside, Bugatti offers the same color scheme while under the hood we find the stock 8.0-liter W16 engine producing 1,184 horsepower and 1,500Nm of torque. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2,6 seconds with a top speed of 408 km/h.

The company released no official pricing figures for the new model but expect a quite steep price tag considering the model’s exclusivity.
