The Pebble Beach Elegance Contest is one of the most important car events on the American continent. Aston Martin has chosen this year’s edition to present the new Valhalla to the overseas public, but the British have other surprises for the fans.

They will launch a new model here, and the teaser image next to it shows that it would be the convertible version of Valkyrie. Named the Valkyrie Roadster, it is expected to debut on August 12.

Aston Martin did not provide further details. Certainly, however, the technical specifications will remain unchanged, compared to the usual version of the Gaydon hypercar.

Thanks to a hybrid propulsion system, which also includes a 6.5-liter V12, naturally aspirated, Valkyrie has 1,176 hp and 900 Nm of torque, enough to reach 100 km / h in about 2.5 seconds.

Also at the Pebble Beach Elegance Contest, the Aston Martin booth will include other models such as the AMR21 Formula 1 car, V12 Speedster and a 1964 DB5.

Recently, Aston Martin announced the arrival of a special edition based on the Vanquish series (Vanquish S to be exact), called Vanquish Ultimate edition, and available in a limited-run of just 175 examples worldwide. Both in coupe and convertible variants, the new Vanquish edition is equipped with highlights from the carmaker`s new Copper Bronze package.

At the exterior, the Aston Martin Vanquish Ultimate can be wrapped in both Cobalt Blue and White Gold with Bronze trim or Ultimate Black, while the interior has been created with one-off themes.

Speaking of the car`s body wraps at the exterior and interior detailing, Aston Martin CEO Marek Reichman, also stated:

“With the Ultimate Edition we have accentuated the Vanquish S’s unique blend of tradition, technology and craftsmanship with a selection of three bold exterior paint schemes and hugely appealing interior packages that make creative use of exciting materials. Our design team has created three unique themes which unite an exterior and interior package, but we have been careful to ensure each exterior colour and interior theme work well together to offer our customers maximum choice.”

Besides the new colours, the Aston Martin Vanquish Ultimate has been also enhanced with a number of styling elements that separate it from the rest of the Vanquish series – Ultimate Black paint with Copper Bronze details on the side sills, front end and rear diffuser. As for the cabin, the engineers have added new materials that provide an exclusive feel. We are dealing with Obsidian Black leather with Chestnut Tan accents, adding as well the optional Electron Yellow accents or Spectral Blue stitching with Phantom Grey leather.

Power is another important attribute for the Aston Martin Vanquish Ultimate, in this case, a rough 444 kW and an eight-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive system. It is basically what the 5.9-liter naturally aspirated engine from the standard Vanquish S also looks like.

This is exactly what defines the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato now coming as well with a Shooting Brake styling. First detailed in images back in July, the model is now popping up in a new set of photos.

The model looks astonishing with the new glass roof with flowing lines that shape out the car`s personality. The new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is also fitted with a new set of wings built from carbon fiber, allowing for better flow and increased performance.

The rear end is also highlighted by the windscreen between the taillights and the haunches, all contributing to the car`s refined aesthetics and aerodynamics.

The design is not the Shooting Brake`s only attribute, as it perfectly reflects the raw power it comes with under the hood.

Performance wise, the all-new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake takes its power from a massive 5.9-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine, rather the same one found on the standard Vanquish Zagato. The power stands at an impressive 590 horsepower.

The British carmaker hasn’t released any performance details, but it might manage the same sprint from 0 to 100 km/h as the standard coupe and convertible variants. This means 3.5 seconds in the coupe and 3.7 seconds in the convertible.

Aston Martin will release full details and price tags of the new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake in the upcoming period. However, speaking of prices, new reports state that the model won`t come cheap at all, especially since it will be released in a limited-run of just 99 examples.

This process has already begun, with different carmakers already transforming their conventional models into genuine electric vehicles. Let`s take for instance Volkswagen Group which has already confirmed the arrival of the all-new EV Phaeton.

The same philosophy seems to have been adopted by Aston Martin, also announcing that the replacement of the Rapide will be completely electric.

Speaking of which, Dr. Andy Palmer, CEO at Aston Martin, has declared to Motoring magazine:

“So obviously there`s a platform for the electric Rapide, so it has life in front of it, but the Rapide as you see today is also going to be replaced by the DBX on one hand and the Lagonda on the other.”

This means that we are expecting the new Rapide by 2020 with the Lagonda`s electric platform, churning out an amazing 600 kW. The total range will also be impressive and will tackle models from Tesla – around 320 km.

Aside the new Rapide, the British car manufacturer is also planning to introduce improved non-electric variants of its models, including a new Lagonda Sedan and fresh Vantage next year, both arriving by 2020. Also, there is also the updated Vanquish in the cards next year.

The engines will be made in collaboration with AMG, and will involve a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, or a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, the same found on many of the current Mercedes-AMG models on the market today.

This allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, when paired to a high-performance eight-speed Touchtronic II Transmission. The top speed is also electronically limited at 323 km/h.

The entire power is also achieved thanks to the new mechanical goodies, like quad-exhaust tailpipes, revised inlet manifolds for better airflow, Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with three driving modes – Normal, Sport and Track.

The prototype spotted here is still wearing plenty of camouflage, which is a clear indication that it is far away from its final release at the beginning of 2017. Once arriving on the market, it will become the direct competitor of the new Porsche 911, being set with price tags between $150,000 – $250,000.

Judging from the spy video released by autoevolution, the all-new 2017 Aston Martin Vantage is wearing heavy camouflage, indicating plenty of new styling bits, mostly borrowed from the new DB11.

We are looking here at a modified C-pillar and smaller front end spoiler, adding a more rounded rear end, smaller headlights and taillights, wider and thinner front grille, and other aggressive styling cues.

However, the car`s main highlight will be the new powertrain under the hood, the 2017 Aston Martin Vantage packing a new V8 mill from Mercedes AMG, which will closely follow the DB11`s AMG V12.

The new mill will replace the present 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. We are dealing with a new 4.0-liter V8 engine with a twin-turbo configuration. We don’t have the official performance figures, but according to the same auto publication, we might be looking here at a range between 350 kW – 430 kW.

We have seen the 2016 911 R in a recent test drive and we know what it can do on track or road, while the 2017 V12 Vantage S is the symbol of advanced driving dynamics and sheer performance. And these two are perfect to go against each other in an 18-minute video, with the famous journalist behind the wheel of both cars and comparing their handlings, steering and performance.

As a reminder, the 2016 Porsche 911 R comes with a lot of high-tech tweaks, which make it extremely performance, such as Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), Porsche Stability Management (PSM), titanium sport exhaust system, 20-inch lightweight wheels and so on. In the engine department, the model brags with a 3.8-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine, with 500 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque, enough to deliver a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The topping is set at 323 km/h.

On the other hand, the 2017 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S features a high-performance seven-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic manual gearbox with “Sportshift III” paddle-shift, which makes it extremely powerful and high-performance. On that matter, the sports car uses a massive 6.0-liter V2 engine, with 565 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. The sprint to 100 km/h is done in 3.9 seconds, at a topping of 336 km/h.

Is interesting that the photos look professional, so they seem to be factory pictures. DB11 is meant to replace the DB9, and it looks like it can do it properly. More, let’s not forget about the partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin: the future British cars will be equipped with AMG-developed engines, while their electric and electronic parts will come from the Mercedes models. So good bye naturally-aspirated engine and hello turbo: Aston Martin announced that the DB11 will get a V12 5.2 litre twin-turbo, replacing the current’s DB9’s V12 6-litre. It could be also equipped later with the smaller V8 4.0 litre twin-turbo AMG engine, known from C63 AMG S, developing around 510 hp.

The question here is how will the AM fans feel about the factory decision of using turbo engines? In my opinion, though there’s a shame, there is a time when all of us should accept the change. If Ferrari fans did it, probably the same will happen to AM’s, especially because the V12 architecture has been maintained.

Though the exterior photos are very conclusive, there isn’t any picture of the car’s cockpit, so we can’t pronounce about the presence of Mercedes switches on the dash board. But we can look at the last month’s spy shots, which reveal some Mercedes components onboard, like the steering wheel, command controller and the infotainment system’s display. The good thing is that this week, at Geneva, the final version will be revealed.

Though it was initially offered only in the Middle East, now it’s also available in Europe, Asia and South Africa. To understand just how exotic this car is, it costs almost twice as Rolls-Royce Phantom and three times more than Bentley Mulsanne.

It looks as strikingly as the first generation, launched in 1976. It’s even longer, with a total length of 5396.5mm. As we can see in the pictures, a Citroen C3’s length is from the front bumper to the B-pillar of Lagonda! Although initially the production was limited to 100 cars, Aston Martin decided to increase production at 200 items. It shares the engine with Rapide S: a V12 naturally-aspirated monster producing about 560hp and 465 pound-feet of torque (630Nm) from a 6 liter displacement. Paired with 8-speed automatic transmission, it launches Lagonda to 100km/h in just over 4s and doesn’t stop until it reaches 200mph (320km/h).

It’s not the first time a Lagonda is seen in traffic. In September 2015, a brown one had been filmed in London. Anyway, in Oman it had been tested on the streets for 14,000 miles over one month. When production will get close to the 200 unit, hopefully we can see a Lagonda…well…virtually everywhere!
