Honda`s main subsidiary in the United States Acura, has recently announced the introduction of the all-new RLX Sport Hybrid on the local market, the model coming with the latest technology and a plethora of safety features.

The 2016 Hybrid edition is now available for $59,950, which is no cheap price, but taking into account that it shares the technology and hybrid technology with the topper NSX supercar, is definitely worth the price.

Speaking about technology and features, the 2016 Acura RLS Sport Hybrid comes with Smart Entry/Smart Start keyless access, the latest dual-touch screens, which are extremely easy to use, “tensionless” e-pretension front seatbelts, rain-sensing windshield wipers and much more.

As for the safety features, these are included in the AcuraWatch pack and consists of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Cross Traffic Monitor or Collision Mitigation Braking System.

Other features also include the 19-inch alloy rims, Electronic Parking Brake with Automatic Brake Hold, or capless refueling system.

In the engine department, the 2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid comes with a hybrid powertrain, just as its name suggests. We are looking here at a 3.5-liter 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine hooked to two electric motors and developing an overall output of 310 horsepower.

That is quite impressive considering the fuel consumption – just 29 mpg/city, 30 mpg/highway/29 mpg/combined. The engine is also hooked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with built-in motor-generator, which sends the power to the front wheels, while the two electric motors send the power to the rear.
