Subaru revealed today the new Pleo Plus, a small model especially developed for the Japanese market.
Even we are used to see high-performance sports car wearing Subaru’s badge, this time it’s not the case. The new Pleo Plus packs a 650cc petrol unit offering 52 horsepower and 60Nm of torque. Of course, the tiny engine provides great fuel economy figures of 3,3lt/100 km (70,5mpg US).

The Japanese carmaker also fits the new Pleo Plus with a start/stop system and regenerative braking for an improved fuel consumption figures. The three-cylinder engine is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

The interior is a modest one with mostly plastic materials and few chrome trim.

Japanese pricing for the new Subaru Pleo Plus starts at 795,000 yen (€7,500) for the base two-wheel drive model while a four-wheel variant is offered as well, carrying a price tag of 1,097,500 yen (€10,300).
