Nissan releases new pricing information on the Leaf EV for the European market. As a reminder, the Nissan Leaf is one of the leaders in the segment of electric vehicles competing against models such as the Chevrolet Volt.
Under the hood we find an electric motor producing 107 horsepower which offers a driving range of 175 kilometers with a maximum top speed of 145 km/h.
For Europe, Nissan produces the Leaf at the Sunderland plant in the United Kingdom.
The 2013 Nissan Leaf starts at 23,490 in Britain while other European countries benefit from a starting price of 25,990. This means an improvement of around 3,000 which is quite important these days.
“The change comes as part of a global effort to make the LEAF more affordable,” adds Nissan.
It remains to be seen if this strategy of cutting the price will actually increase demand and sales.
