Porsche announced a recall for five 918 Spyder models due to some issues at the rear axle control arms. Fortuntely, the problem is not major and concerns only five of the U.S.-spec units.
To be more specific, the cars built between May 7 and June 18 are concerned, Porsche saying that the repairing will be completely free.
The malfunctioning rear axle control arms could cause an accident in certain situations but Porsche assures the customers that the problem is not very imminent. Another 45 units wold worldwide were fixed, therefore, only the five models built in the aforementioned time frame are concerned.
As a reminder, the Porsche 918 Spyder is a hybrid supercar which benefits from a 4.6-liter V8 engine as well as two electric motor. With a total output of 887 horses and 800 Nm of torque, the 0-100 km/h sprint is possible in just 2,8 seconds.
With such performance figures, there’s no surprise that every little detail which might affect the performance or the safety will be treated very serious.
