The new Fiat 500e, the electric model which is expected to arrive in the United States this spring, gets official EPA ratings for fuel economy.
To be more specific, the new 500e comes with combined figures of 116 MPGe. Equipped with a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the vehicle is capable to run 140 kilometers on a single charge.

Power is provided by an electric motor producing 111 horsepower and 200Nm of torque, enough to provide a top speed of 137 km/h. The Italians at Fiat estimate a running cost of just $500 per year for the electric model.

“Our environmentally sexy Fiat 500e offers a design proposition like no other, while delivering unsurpassed MPGe and class-leading range making our 500e a serious contender in the market,” adds the carmaker.

Using the on-board charging module, the Fiat 500e will completely charge in less than four hours at a 240 volt outlet.
