A certain Mercedes-Benz came on the market recently. It is the elusive CW 311, a car deemed worthy of taking on the Ford GT40 at the time.
Now it is on the market for any taker that have they pockets lined with around 1 million EUR.
While Mercedes never did actually produce produce this car, this awesome machine did inspire people who took it upon themselves to make sure this car sees daylight. Out of this desire the separate brand Isdera was born, and they called their CW 311 successor the Imperator 108i.
Even so, not many Imperators were produced, with only a handful of cars getting to feel the asphalt. Under the hood, the Isdera Imperator has a 5.5 liter V8 engine capable of dishing out some 400 Hp. That is quite a lot of power for the period. Actually it is a lot for today’s standards, too.
