The reason I love American pickup trucks is that they come exclusive with massive body styling and sheer performance under the hood, which are the main attributes that every single pickup truck in the world should have.

And we have seen some standout models from Ram tackling the off-roads with their gigantic styling, massive engines and the latest off-road equipment. Speaking about off-road capabilities, Matt Tranter, Ford Performance engineering supervisor, has also stated:

“Raptor was designed to be a no-compromise, off-road performance machine. That is why we made the switch from the cast-iron V8 to the aluminum block, high-output GTDI V6 EcoBoost engine that our team tuned to add 39 horsepower and 76 lb.-ft. of torque for today’s Raptor.”

Now it is also time to have a look at the Ram`s number one competitor, the all-new 2017 Ford F150 Raptor, another monster pickup designed to conquer the world with sheer power.

First of all, the new Ford Raptor is more lightweight than the previous generation and that to increase its performances on all terrain conditions, being now fitted with a military-grade aluminum alloy architecture and high-strength steel frame, all making it shed off around 500 pounds, which is quite impressive.

Also, the new chassis reduction reduces the Raptor`s fuel consumption as opposed to the previous generation. Unfortunately, for the moment, we do not have the official consumption figures, but we expect around 25 percent improvement.

In the engine department, thinks are looking different, the 207 Ford Raptor coming with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost engine, which makes it squeeze 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. This makes it one of the most powerful pickup trucks in the V8 segment.
