When it comes to the famous Le Mans events, Ford has got a lot of good memories to think of and to share with its fans, especially since it recently won its class with the astonishing Ford GT.

This was perhaps another reason to commemorate the 1966 Le Mans winnings by releasing a special model, called the 2017 GT 66 Heritage Edition, a reminder of the classic Ford GT40 racer.

Back in 1966, the Ford GT40 won the podium with famous Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon behind the wheel.

And what better way to show its gratitude to the classic GT40 then releasing a model that would take its vintage feel and look. And yes, the GT 66 Heritage Edition does borrow the Shadow Black exterior wrap and the classic design cues. White stripes, as well as matte and gloss finishes are also available.

Let`s not forget the number 2 on the bonnet and the single-piece 20-inch alloy wheels, and we have the best replica of the 1966`s racer.

Stepping inside, the cabin of the 2017 Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition is highlighted by the satin gold trim, GT logos on the steering and headrests as well as the seats all wrapped in ebony leather.

Underneath the skin, this exquisite and limited edition racer packs a powerful 3.5-liter bi-turbo V6 engine, with an impressive 600 horsepower.

There is no word yet on the pricing tag and the number of units available worldwide, but we should expect fresh news in the upcoming period. Meanwhile, enjoy the Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition in the gorgeous photo gallery below!
