Here is the new Opel Astra OPC, the high performance version of the German model which has been revealed at the current Geneva Motor Show. Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 276 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
The front wheels receive the power via a six-speed transmission while a mechanical limited slip differential is also available. We know that the new Astra OPC can hit a top speed of 250 km/h but we don’t have any details about the 0 – 100 km/h sprint.

“We have devised a great package that will convince even the most experienced sports drivers – not just on the Nürburgring,” said Joachim Winkelhoc.

As you probably guessed, the new German model is based on the Astra GTC hatchback, namely on the three-door variant of that model. At the exterior, the designers added new 20-inch forged alloy wheels, revised front and rear bumpers, roof spoiler and side skirts.

Entering the cabin you will find new leather upholstery, Recaro sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and other minor improvements. More details on pricing and availability to be released soon.
