Germans from Mercedes-Benz revealed the discrete facelift applied to ML 63 AMG model. The model has not received the new V8 twin-turbo 5.5-liter engine, but the unit remained the aspirated 6.2 liter engine capable to develop 510 hp.
Mercedes-Benz refreshed the ML range with the facelift applied to the performance version ML 63 AMG. The model retains the aspirated V8 engine of 6208cc which has equipped the unit since its market debut. Surprisingly, Mercedes-Benz have not integrated the new 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 unit capable to develop 544 hp and 800 Nm offered in the standard version, respectively 571 hp and 900 Nm in the version equipped with sports package. The Germans have preferred to remain at the classic aspirated V8 that develops 510 hp and 630 Nm.
The V8 unit delivers maximum power at 6800 rpm and is able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. The engine has been awarded in 2009 with “Best Performance Engine” in the prestigious Engine of the Year, at the “more than four liters” category. The propeller is coupled to an AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic transmission equipped with three operating modes and the power is split 40:60 between the front and rear.
