Mitsubishi announced three new concepts for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. Set to be revealed on November 20, the new prototypes are quite futuristic models.
They are called Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV, Concept GC-PHEV and Concept AR. The first one is the GC-PHEV full-size SUV powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine and an electric motor.
The hybrid powertrain is linked to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV is a more compact model with a 1.1-liter direct-injection engine and an electric motor. The Mitsubishi Concept AR previews the company’s future approach of MPV models.
A wide range of e-Assist active safety systems are present on these concepts while a new infotainment system is offered as well. It is also meant to preview the upcoming production system, therefore, it adopts the same futuristic approach.
“These two concepts feature PHEV systems optimally tailored to different market and segment requirements,” says the Japanese company.
