Volkswagen released official pricing information on the new Beetle Convertible for the home market, Germany.
Available with two petrol engines, namely a 1.2-liter TSI with 104 horsepower and a more potent 1.4-liter with 160 horses, the new Beetle Convertible starts at €21,350.
On the other hand, there is a 1.6-liter TDI diesel offering 104 horsepower and a range-topping 2.0-liter TDI with 138 horses and a dual-clutch DSG transmission. The latter is offered at €27,950 being the most expensive version in the range.
If you are really careful about the fuel economy, you should look at the 1.6-liter TDI BlueMotion Technology model which is capable to return a combined fuel consumption of just 4,5 liters/100km with CO2 emissions of 118 g/km.
The new Volkswagen Beetle Convertible makes use of a standard soft top which is automatic and takes 10 seconds to open or close. Volkswagen also strengthened the A-pillars of the model in order to gain back the rigidity lost by replacing the roof.
