If you don’t really like the sort of car that feels normal, Subaru are ready to cater to your needs with their newly introduced 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek.
Not only is this car hard to place in a market, it’s actually quite a special treat in itself and we’ve even gotten ourselves a price list to look at.
Since the starter sits at 21.995 USD, realizing how and where this car fits in the market seems to be even trickier than usual.
In theory, this car is supposed to come in as a replacement for a previously dropped model of the Subaru lineup, the Impreza Outback and there is some evidence to support that.
The two cars share the same engine, have similar underpinnings and share quite a bit of the interior equipment, fixtures and fittings.
Where things begin to stray apart is in the ride height, the increased off-road capability and the fact that the two cars share very little in terms of looks and body panels.
When it comes to summing up things, it seems that the XV Crosstrek is definitely a part of the Subaru family, though it may be a little trickier to look cool in it.
After all, who cares, it’s not an STI, it’s not a rally monster, but does have a go anywhere ability that doesn’t break the bank on any front.
Gas mileage is great, reliability is even better and with a top end model coming in at $24.495 value for money is certainly on a new level.
Granted, the option list isn’t that long but it’s not like Subaru ever skimped on equipment levels.
