It seems Mercedes either has some clumsy employees or this teaser picture is a great marketing move.

Apparently, with just a couple weeks left on the countdown to the official release of the new S-Class, a Mercedes-Benz Austria official posted this picture online.

Of course, this “mistake” was quickly rectified, but it was too late, as the picture was already captured and now it is here to stay.

The main thing the photo reveals is the reworked front fascia, with LED daytime running lights, redesigned grille and an overall more aggressive look. Considering the place in the range of mercs the new S-Class will take, a lot of luxury is expected for the interior.

Although the official word on the engine options was not sounded, most would consider a twin turbo 4.6 liter V8, a twin turbo 5.5 liter V8 and maybe even a V12 engine. Diesel versions should also be available while for the more eco-friendly buyers, we might even see hybrids or plug-in hybrids for the 2014 Mercedes S-Class.

Whatever the case, we will know for sure in two weeks, and if this was a marketing move, nice one, Mercedes.
