BMW presented at Concorso d’Eleganzza Villa d’Este event a contemporary interpretation of the legendary 328 Kamm coupe model, in honor of the victory obtained 70 years ago on the circuit at Mille Miglia. As promised, BMW has revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganzza Villa d’Este event a faithful reproduction of the legendary 328 Kamm coupe model, bringing to Bavarians nearly 220 victories in motorsport.
Of these, the most important were in 1940 when one of five existing copies on the Mille Miglia track managed to win the ultimate trophy. The German manufacturer has decided to honor the celebration of 70 years of memorable success with a contemporary replica of the 328 Kamm coupe model, designed and conducted by a team specialized in classic car restoration.
It seems that the first plans in this regard dates back to 1990, when the absence of specific drawings and complete information made the project seem impossible. Modern interpretation of old 328 Kamm coupe was possible after a 3D reproduction of the model, made by former owners.
