About the SUV`s luxurious looks, Lexus Australia chief executive Scott Thompson declared that “The UX delivers a fresh and contemporary appeal to young buyers seeking new and exciting experiences relevant to their lifestyles. For many of them, this will not only be their first Lexus vehicle, but also their first entry into the luxury segment.”
According to Toyota`s luxury division Lexus, the new UX, which is derived from Urban Crossover, is set to come very premium against the likes of the new Q2 from Audi or the X1 from BMW. This means adopting a more luxurious and sportier looks, along with some powerful engines under the hood.
Available in three trims, the Luxury, Sports Luxury and top of the line F Sport, the new 2019 Lexus UX in all both its versions (the UX 200 and UX 250h), doesn’t make any compromises when it comes to aesthetics and luxury feel. It comes standard with 17- to 18-inch alloy wheels, a gorgeous design language and plenty of high-tech gadgetries under the hood. The F Sport however does separate from the lineup with additional features.
Inside, also standard is a 10.3-inch digital media display with eight-speaker stereo with digital radio, along with a 7.0-inch TFT digital display for the instrument cluster. The mid-entry Sports Luxury features additional gizmos such as panoramic parking cameras, 13-speaker Mark Levinson, leather upholstery and ventilated front seats.
The top of the line F Sport is even more accessorized, featuring sports seats with paddle shifters, sports dampers at the back, active sound control, adaptive variable sports suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels at the exterior.
Underneath the skin, the UX comes equipped with two engines. There is a 2.0-liter flat-four engine powering the UX 200, and which develops 126 kW. Next is the UX 250h which uses with a hybrid electric motor assist system with 131 kW. All trim levels come equipped with a CVT automatic transmission.
