We’ve seen several collaborations between car manufacturers and fashion houses but today we are going to talk about a unique partnership between Mercedes and Pioneer. The specialists from Pioneer decided to equip the Mercedes Vito van with an impressive 30,000 watts audio system, calling it the Project-X.

The base model is a Vito Sport-X Dualiner fitted with a 3.0-liter diesel unit offering 221 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. Pioneer claims that the audio equipment costs £25,000 and consists of two 15-inch SPL subs and four Champion Series sub-woofers.

The system uses eight amplifiers, four batteries and a 300amp power supply. Besides the impressive audio system, the German model benefits from a sports exhaust, tinted windows, a Brabus steering wheel and also chrome trim.

“We’re keen to get the vehicle out and about to showcase what it can do in front of a live audience and look forward to seeing the public’s reaction to such a breath-taking machine,” commented Steve Bridge, Marketing Director for Mercedes UK.
