Rival auto companies will always make partnerships when concerning the well-being of their own interests. This is also the case of the Japanese Toyota carmaker that has partnered with Mazda, to equip its future subcompact series with the high-tech performance of Skyactiv engine.
The Toyota will be equipping the subcompact series with the Skyactiv engines at the Japanese`s plant set in Mexico.
Keishi Egaza, the head CEO of Mazda in Mexico, reported that the Toyota automaker will make the interior and the exterior of the car, assuring a total of 50,000 subcompacts units per year.
More than that, the Yaris model will be also share replacements taken from the Mazda Company. The Toyota will be thus using the new Skyactiv-D 1.5 diesel engine taken from the Hazumi concept.
The Skyactiv engines are very productive in terms of technology enhancement and the Mazda automaker has reported that the next-gen of Mazda 2 will be likely to come in the second half of 2014.
As for the Toyota – Mazda deal, the Skyactiv engine is set to be more fuel-efficient for the upcoming Toyota and Mazda models.
Partnerships are great and this time, it seems that the two companies will work close to deliver the best products concerning the Skyactiv technology, which brings fuel-efficiency closer to its customers.
