Volvo decided to announce a new special edition of the V60, namely the Twin Engine Special Edition. At the exterior, the Swedish model has a Crystal White finish with new 19-inch alloy wheels and contrasting gloss black inserts.
Under the hood, we find a hybrid powertrain that includes a D5 diesel engine as well as an electric motor. With a total output of 230 horsepower, the Volvo V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition is capable to provide both decent performance and good fuel economy figures.

There also an 11.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that stores the energy for the electric motor. Volvo says that the V60 D6 Twin Engine is the number one selling plug-in hybrid in the premium segment in Europe.

“With the launch of the V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition we are broadening our Twin Engine product range,” says the carmaker.

Pricing details on the Volvo V60 D5 Twin Engine Special Edition are not available yet but we do know that the company will produce only 500 units. If you won’t be that lucky to get your hands on one of the 500 examples, Volvo says that the standard model will be available this spring. More details on the special edition will be released at the Geneva Motor Show.
