After the North American based carmaker introduced a hardcore variant of the Camaro ZL1 at the Daytona International Speedway, just a couple of days back – the ZL1 1LE with 650 HP – Chevrolet is now reportedly working on the sixth-generation Camaro Z/28 which is slotted to arrive in 2019 with massive 750 horsepower.
The reports were issued by Car and Driver, a reliable source which states that the new muscle car will stand above the ZL1 and use a brand-new engine, called for now “LT6”.
On the every basis of the car`s platform might stand the 5.5-liter LT7 twin-turbo V8 with direct injection, flat-plane crank and titanium rods, rather the same one found underneath the 2018 Corvette ZR1.
In the current Camaro ZL1, the LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine comes with 484 kW, hooked to a ten-speed automatic transmission. The new Camaro Z/28 is also expected to be equipped with the same mechanics as the newly unveiled ZL1 and the ZL1 1LE variant.
This means that we should also expect Brembo brakes, updated aero package with carbon fiber components and rear wing for improved aerodynamics and so on.
As for the car`s arrival in different parts of the country, the rumor mill states that GM would offer the new Camaro Z/28 in the United States for the moment. Stay tuned for the latest info on the arrival of the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 in the United States. The carmaker is also reported to launch the first official images with the model in a short period of time.
