The Americans from Chevrolet released official pricing figures for the 2013 Sonic RS, a small hatchback model offered exclusively with a 1.4-liter petrol unit.
The Ecotec turbocharged power plant is capable to deliver 138hp and 200Nm of torque. There are no performance figures but we are told that the new Sonic RS gets a standard six-speed manual gearbox but also an optional automatic one.
At the exterior, the RS model gets new front and rear bumpers, chromed exhaust pipes, new 17-inch alloy wheels, a revised front grille and new air vents.
Entering the cabin you will find a three-spoke steering wheel, leather shift knob, new instrument panel, aluminum pedals and leather seats.
Chevrolet also fits the new Sonic RS with a revised and stiffened suspension able to lower the ride by 10mm. A new braking system with better disc brakes also comes with the new American hatch.
The 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS starts at $20,995 (manual) and $22,280 (automatic).
