Here are the first photos and details on the high-performance Mercedes A45 AMG, a model which will be seen for the first time at a public event next year at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Power is provided by a 2.0-liter turbo engine capable to offer 350 horsepower and 450Nm of torque. An AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven-speed transmission transfers the power to the wheels.
With such power, the new A45 AMG sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5,1 seconds with a top speed of 249 km/h, expandable to 279 km/h if fitted with an optional pack.
The average fuel economy for the German model is rated at 33mpg US (7 liters/100km). At the exterior, the model sports 18-inch alloy wheels with Dunlop Sport Maxx tires, a new honeycome grille, revised braking system and trapezoidal tailpipes.
Mercedes released no official pricing info but current rumors say that we should expect a price tag of about £36,000.
