The Renault Megane RS is well-known for its performance and this was the reason why the Madrid Police has recently two units to face the high crime in the famous Spanish city.
The reason for buying these two units came out due to the economic crisis that has affected Spain in the past few years, and for some, this might be nothing compared to the Dubai`s high-end police units.
But the Renault Megane units the Madrid police has purchased have already proven their demands on the roads, as they come equipped with some police livery and some special tweaks inside.
Tweaks involve the front doors that are completely made from Kevlar, and that for increased protection. More, the two Renault Megane units also sport an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit, which produces now a total of 265 horsepower in the Trophy version.
Thus, the rather powerful hatch can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in its high-chase against criminals, in an impressive 6.0 seconds, along a top speed of 254 km/h.
In case police would also want to upgrade this model, there will also be the Renault Megane Trophy model, which develops a greater 275 horsepower output.
