Even though Chrysler managed to take a bite out of the police fleet market that used to be a just about all Ford, it wasn’t easy.

After the entire proceeding took place, the Dodge Chargers Chrysler supplied U.S. police forces with looked as badass as possible.

Sadly though, that’s not enough when you’re going to work with the “blues and twos” and some bad news came in regarding those Chargers.

As the NHTSA will tell you, Chrysler will have to go around and recall nearly 10.000 units of the Dodge Chargers they’ve kitted up for the cops.

There are two major problems for which the chargers are being recalled and both have to do with faulty wiring or connectors.

One case has a lighting harness connector possibly overheating and eventually leading to these Dodge Chargers losing their low beams.

As if that wasn’t giving the guy on his “beat” enough headaches, another heating overrun issue within the power distribution center leads to a more interesting problem.

If the center “melts” the police Dodge Charger may end up losing its ABS brakes. As if that wasn’t enough, the stability control systems will fail along side.

Chrysler isn’t very pleased about the situation and nor are the police forces equipped with the 2010-2011 Dodge Chargers that may be affected.

The exact number of Dodge Charger cop cars that will be coming in at nearby dealers is 9.688 and yes, the cars will be called in.

Just like any other recall, the owners will be notified and invited to their local dealers for a free replacement of the affected parts.
