Ever since going under Chinese ownership the Swedish company has been getting into a rather nice uphill climb that now seems to be aiming for mountain tops.

The latest announcement from the representatives of Volvo contains a bit of joy for those who put safety first but still take some sporting breaths at some point during the day as their R Design division will be coming to Paris with their version of the S60.
Of course, when I mean Paris, I mean the Paris Motor Show and besides the S60 R Volvo will also be filling the stands with stuff like the XC60, XC90, S40, V50 and C30 hatchback.
Geno Effler, Vice President of Public Affairs at Volvo North America was the first to confirm, the rather difficult to predict, Volvo S60R’s unveiling at the French motor show.
While no actual specs have been released of the upcoming performance version of the Volvo S60 we do have information on some plans for a front-drive, five-cylinder volume model that’s due to hit the market early next year.

Another important part of the new ownership is the attention given to hybrid and very efficient diesel models.
