Obama took yer jobs! Government Motors! Tesla is built on our money! You could think like that, or see things in a less politically biased way.
Tesla’s cars are really finally making us believe in electric cars since they do seem to work properly. The Roadster’s initial efforts were not very convincing, but the Model S is changing things.
Obviously, the Obama administration has had an impact on allowing the company to develop the car, but the technology is what we’re interested in.
Thankfully, the American car maker agrees and they plan to spread the love around. They are now confirming the new set of models we’ve heard about before.
A follow-up model for the Tesla Roadster was guaranteed anyway, so that’s not a big surprise. Finding out it will be named the model R is a bit of a bonus though.
The highlight is spanned in another direction though. Tesla’s targets are now set on the mass market, something quite tricky to achieve as an EV.
Electric vehicles will likely get cheaper and more accessible the more of them are built but this is the segment that really needs a push right now.
Sticking along the lines of practical thinking, an electric pickup is reportedly in the works as well. That should help fleet managers more than we usually imagine.
All you rich folk need not worry however, as Tesla did confirm work on a brand new supercar as well. That’s something you will be able to spend your money on.
