With the introduction of the Model S, Tesla has really hit it big, and is now one of the few self founded car makers out there.
Thing is, as good as the Model S might be, it only caters to a limited number of customers, mostly due to the price tag.

In order to bring something more affordable to the table, Tesla has announced an entry level sedan, a car that will manage to rival cars like the BMW 3 Series of the Audi A4. Ever since that announcement, most people started imagining a smaller, less powerful, less equipped Model S.
As a recent statement indicates, though, things are not quite like that. It seems that in order to realistically match its direct competitors when it comes to pricing, the entry level Tesla sedan will borrow very little from the Model S. This bit of news surely shattered a lot of ideas, and with some three years until Tesla will launch it, I expect some time will pass until we start getting some real info on the new sedan.
